National Honors Society is a high school student organization focused around leadership and service to the community. I've had the pleasure of being NHS historian, where I keep track of meetings and organize service work with my peers.
I joined tennis in my junior year so I could try a new sport and meet new people, as I had been playing volleyball for nearly 6 years at that point. I had an amazing time and was able to join varsity that year, playing doubles with my partner.
This year, I not only got the chance to play flight 1 Doubles with my partner, but was voted as team captain by my peers.
I've been participating in service work since I was 10 because of my connection with my local Catholic Church. As I've grown, the importance of service has stuck with me and I continue to be an active participant in my community.
I have served at local food and meal pantries, like Sunshine Place in Sun Prairie and Luke House in Madison, but I've also served across the whole of Wisconsin yearly by participating in Love Begins Here, a youth service retreat that focuses on community service.
I've been playing volleyball since I was in 5th grade, and continued to participate throughout high school. Not only did I play on the school team, but I was on a Northstar Volleyball Club team.
I played at Northstar for 4 years and had the chance to develop my volleyball and teamwork skills. I even got the chance to travel to Chicago for Nationals.
